Operator Safety SAFETY WARNING POTENTIAL HAZARD: Stalling, rolling or improperly dismounting while climbing a hill. WHAT CAN HAPPEN: The vehicle could overturn. HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD: Maintain steady speed when climbing a hill. If all forward speed is lost: Keep your weight uphill. Apply front brakes gradually. When fully stopped, apply rear brake as well, then lock the parking brake. If the ATV begins rolling backwards: Keep weight uphill. Never apply engine power. Never apply the rear brake while rolling backwards. Apply the front brake gradually. When fully stopped, apply the rear brake as well, and then lock the parking brake. Dismount on uphill side, or to either side if ATV is pointed straight uphill. Turn the ATV around and remount, following the procedure described in the owner's manual. See page 80. 41
