MAINTENANCE Fast Idle Lever and Cable 1. Movefast idle lever. It should move smoothly from rest position to fast idle position and back again. Measure free-play (A), which is the amount of lever movement from the rest position to the point of cable resistance. Specification: Between 3-6mm (1/8-1/4 in.) freeplay and 2000 RPM @ Fast Idle Speed (¦ 200) Fast Idle Lever A Fast Idle Position Rest Position Fast Idle Lever Freeplay Adjustment 1. If adjustment is necessary, remove seat (page 122) and fuel tank (page 100). 2. Loosen fast idle cable adjuster lock nut (B). 3. Turn cable adjuster in or out until freeplay at lever is 1/8-1/4 inch (3-6 mm). 4 Tighten adjuster lock nut securely. 5 Reinstall fuel tank and seat. 6. Start engine and let it idle with transmission in NEUTRAL and fast idle lever in the rest (normal run) position. 7. Turn handlebars from full right to full left. If engine RPM increases when bars are turned, re-check throttle cable and fast idle cable adjustments, cable condition, and routing. If problem persists contact your VICTORY dealer. 102 B

Fast Idle Lever and Cable
1.
Movefast idle lever. It should move smoothly from rest
position to fast idle position and back again. Measure
free-play (A), which is the amount of lever movement

Fast Idle Lever Freeplay Adjustment
1.
If adjustment is necessary, remove seat (page 122) and

2.
Loosen fast idle cable adjuster lock nut (B).
3.
Turn cable adjuster in or out until freeplay at lever is
1/8-1/4 inch (3-6 mm).

Tighten adjuster lock nut securely.

Reinstall fuel tank and seat.
6.
Start engine and let it idle with transmission in NEUTRAL
and fast idle lever in the rest (normal run) position.
7.
Turn handlebars from full right to full left. If engine RPM
increases when bars are turned, re-check throttle cable and
fast idle cable adjustments, cable condition, and routing. If
problem persists contact your VICTORY dealer.
