OPERATION Starting a Cold Engine The engine can be started when the transmission is in neutral, or while in gear if the clutch is disengaged. WARNING Engine exhaust contains poisonous carbon monoxide and can cause loss of consciousness resulting in severe injury or death. Never run an engine in an enclosed area. CAUTION Operating the vehicle immediately after starting could cause engine damage. Allow the engine to warm up for several minutes before operating. 1. Place the transmission in neutral, lock the parking brake and disengage the clutch. Make sure the fuel valve is on. 70

The engine can be started when the transmission is in neutral, or while in gear if the clutch
is disengaged.
WARNING
Engineexhaustcontainspoisonouscarbonmonoxideandcancauselossof
consciousnessresultinginsevereinjuryordeath. Neverrunanengineinan
enclosedarea.
CAUTION
Operatingthevehicleimmediatelyafterstartingcouldcauseenginedamage.Allow
theenginetowarmupforseveralminutesbeforeoperating.
