OPERATION Driving Safely Parking on an Incline Avoid parking on an incline if possible. If it's unavoidable, follow these precautions: 1. Place the transmission in gear. 2. Engage the park brake. 3. Turn the engine off. 4. Block the rear wheels on the downhill side. WARNING A rolling vehicle can cause property damage and serious injury. Always engage the park brake after stopping the engine. Always block the downhill side of the wheels if leaving the vehicle on a hill, or park the vehicle in a sidehill position instead. Operating the vehicle while the park brake is engaged could cause loss of control and result in serious injury or death. Always disengage the park brake before operating the vehicle. 44
