Before Starting the Engine WARNING PRE-RIDE INSPECTIONS Worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components may cause serious injury or death. Before starting the engine, check all components to be sure of proper operation. Read and Understand Your Owner's Manual Read the Owner's Manual completely and refer to it often. We've attempted to provide as much information as possible to alert you to the safety requirements of snowmobiling. n Check Throttle and Brake for Proper Operation The throttle and brake are the primary controls of your snowmobile. If either should malfunction, loss of control could result. Make sure the throttle lever compresses evenly and smoothly. The lever should immediately return to the idle position without binding or hesitation. If the throttle does not function smoothly, DO NOT start the engine. Have the throttle serviced immediately. The need for a properly functioning brake is critical. Your snowmobile is equipped with the highest quality brake system available. Check the brakes for correct operation before starting the engine. 45
