OPERATION WARNING Failure to operate the ATV properly can result in a collision, loss of control, accident or overturn, which may result in serious injury or death. Read and understand all safety warnings outlined in the safety section of this owner's manual. Break-In Period The break-in period for your new Polaris ATV is the first ten hours of operation, or the time it takes to use the first two full tanks of gasoline. No single action on your part is as important as following the procedures for a proper break-in. Careful treatment of a new engine and drive components will result in more efficient performance and longer life for these components. NOTICE: Excessive heat build-up during the first three hours of operation will damage close-fitted engine parts and drive components. Do not operate at full throttle or high speeds during the first three hours of use. Oil Cooler Recommendations Always install the accessory oil cooler when any of the following conditions exist. Please see your Polaris dealer. Operating Conditions Farming/commercial applications at low speeds Dragging ground surfaces/similar activities Frequent idling or frequent starting and stopping without stopping the engine Towing heavy loads Air temperature when operating is often above 100° F.
