INSTRUMENTS, FEATURES AND CONTROLS Right Handlebar Controls Engine Stop/Run Switch The engine stop/run switch completes or interrupts the ignition, starter, and fuel pump circuits. To complete the circuits, allowing the engine to start and run, press the lower portion of the engine stop/run switch (RUN position). To interrupt the circuits, press the upper portion of the switch (STOP position). The engine should not start or run when the switch is in the STOP position. Use the engine stop/run switch to turn the engine off under either normal or emergency conditions. 1 2 Starter Button The starter button works only when the engine stop/run switch is in the RUN position and the transmission is in neutral or the clutch is disengaged. To engage the engine starter motor, press the right side of the starter button. For complete engine starting procedures, see Starting the Engine, page 71. 3 Throttle Control Grip The throttle control grip controls the engine speed. To increase engine speed, twist the throttle control grip toward you. To decrease engine speed, twist the grip away from you. Right Handlebar Controls
Engine Stop/Run Switch
The engine stop/run switch completes or interrupts the ignition, starter, and
fuel pump circuits. To complete the circuits, allowing the engine to start and
run, press the lower portion of the engine stop/run switch (RUN position).
To interrupt the circuits, press the upper portion of the switch (STOP
position). The engine should not start or run when the switch is in the STOP
position.
Use the engine stop/run switch to turn the engine off under either normal or
emergency conditions.
Starter Button
The starter button works only when the engine stop/run switch is in the RUN
position and the transmission is in neutral or the clutch is disengaged. To
engage the engine starter motor, press the right side of the starter button. For

Throttle Control Grip
The throttle control grip controls the engine speed. To increase engine speed, twist
the throttle control grip toward you. To decrease engine speed, twist the grip away
from you. When you release the grip, it returns to the idle speed position.
Front Brake Lever
The front brake lever is located on the far side of the right handlebar grip. To apply the front brake, pull the front
