Operation Driving Through Water 4. After driving through water, dry the brakes by applying light pressure to the levers (while moving) until braking action is normal. If you do not perform this procedure, your brakes may be ineffective. NOTICE: Serious engine damage can result if the vehicle is not thoroughly inspected after operating in water deeper than the footrest level. As soon as possible, perform the inspections and maintenance services outlined in the periodic maintenance chart beginning on page 96. Engine oil, gearcase oil and all grease fittings need special attention. If the vehicle tips or overturns in water, or if the engine stops during or after operating in water, service is required before starting the engine. Your POLARIS dealer can provide this service. If it's impossible to bring the vehicle in before starting the engine, perform the service outlined on page 114, and take the vehicle in for service at the first opportunity. 91
