ESU00072 PRE-OPERATION CHECKS NOTE: Pre-operation checks should be made each time the machine is used. WARNING The engine and muffler will be very hot after the engine has been run. Avoid touching the engine and muffler while they are still hot with any part of your body or clothing during inspection or repair. ESU00074 FUEL Make sure there is sufficient fuel in the tank. Recommended fuel: Unleaded gasoline R+M Pump octane ; 88 or higher 2 Fuel tank capacity: Total: 31.0 L (6.8 Imp gal, 8.2 US gal) 801-011 WARNING • 801-014 • • 800-021 Fuel is highly flammable and poisonous. Check "SAFETY INFORMATION" (see page 3-2) carefully before refueling. Do not fill the fuel tank all the way to the top. When the machine is tilted, this could cause the fuel to overflow. Make sure that the fuel tank cap is closed securely after refueling. Leaking fuel can catch fire. CAUTION: • Oxygenated fuels ("gasohol") containing max. 5% of ethanol can be used, although richer jetting may be required to prevent engine damage. Consult a Yamaha dealer. Gasohol containing methanol is not recommended. 6-1
