EBU11820 6. Add the recommended final gear oil to the brim of the filler hole. Recommended oil: See page 10-3. Oil quantity: 0.25 L (0.22 Imp qt, 0.26 US qt) CAUTION: _ Be sure no foreign material enters the final gear case. _ 7. Install the oil filler bolt. 8. Check for oil leakage. If oil leakage is found, check for the cause. 9. Install the final gear case cover bolts, and then tighten them to the specified torque. Tightening torque: Final gear case cover bolt: 17 Nm (1.7 m·kgf, 12 ft·lbf) Spark plug inspection The spark plug is an important engine component and is easy to inspect. The condition of the spark plug can indicate the condition of the engine. For example, a very white center electrode porcelain color could indicate an intake air leak or carburetion problem for that cylinder. Do not attempt to diagnose such problems yourself. Instead, take the ATV to a Yamaha dealer. You should periodically remove and inspect the spark plug because heat and deposits will cause the spark plug to slowly break down and erode. If electrode erosion becomes excessive, you should replace the spark plug with one of the proper type. Standard spark plug: DR7EA (NGK) 8-11
