EBU00356 EBU12600 Cable inspection and lubrication WARNING POTENTIAL HAZARD Damaged control cables. WHAT CAN HAPPEN Corrosion can result when the outer covering of control cables becomes damaged. Cables can also become frayed or kinked. Operation of controls could be restricted, which could cause an accident or injury. HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD Inspect cables frequently. Replace damaged cables. Lubricate the inner cables and the cable ends. If the cables do not operate smoothly, ask a Yamaha dealer to replace them. Recommended lubricant: Yamaha chain and cable lube or SAE 10W30 motor oil 8-35 Lubricating the brake levers and brake pedal Lubricate the pivoting parts. NOTE: To access the brake pedal pivot, remove panel A. (See page 8-5 for panel removal and installation procedures.) _ _ Recommended lubricant: Lithium-soap-based grease (all-purpose grease)
