INSTRUMENT AND CONTROL FUNCTIONS EAU11701 EAU12090 Speedometer unit Self-diagnosis device This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis device for various electrical circuits. If any of those circuits are defective, the engine trouble warning light will come on or flash. If this occurs, have a Yamaha dealer check the vehicle. ECA11170 3 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Odometer/tripmeter/clock Speedometer Fuel gauge Set button Mode button The speedometer unit is equipped with a speedometer, an odometer and two tripmeters. The speedometer shows riding speed. The odometer shows the total distance traveled. The tripmeters show the distance traveled since they were last set to zero. Pushing the mode button (left) switches the display between the odometer mode "ODO" and the tripmeter modes "TRIP A" and "TRIP B" in the following order: ODO → TRIP A → TRIP B → ODO To reset a tripmeter, select it by pushing the mode button (left), and then hold down the set button (right) for at least one second. The tripmeters can be used to estimate the distance that can be traveled with a full tank of fuel. This information will enable you to plan future fuel stops. NOTE: This model is not equipped with a tachometer; however, it has a built-in engine speed limiter, which prevents the engine speed from exceeding approximately 4800 r/min. CAUTION: To prevent engine damage, be sure to consult a Yamaha dealer as soon as possible if this occurs. 3-3
