PERIODIC MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT EAU21401 EAU42711 Valve clearance The valve clearance changes with use, resulting in improper air-fuel mixture and/or engine noise. To prevent this from occurring, the valve clearance must be adjusted by a Yamaha dealer at the intervals specified in the periodic maintenance and lubrication chart. Tires To ensure maximum performance, long service, and safe operation, note the following: Tire air pressure Always check and adjust the tire pressure before operating the motorcycle. EWA14651 WARNING Operation of this vehicle with improper tire pressure may cause severe injury or death from loss of control. Tire inflation pressure should be checked and adjusted when the temperature of the tire equals the ambient air temperature. Tire inflation pressure must be adjusted according to total weight of cargo, rider, passenger, and accessories (windshield, sidebags, etc. if approved for this model). Tire air pressure (measured on cold tires): 0-90 kg (0-198 lb): Front: 250 kPa (2.50 kgf/cm², 36 psi) Rear: 280 kPa (2.80 kgf/cm², 41 psi) 90-186 kg (198-410 lb): Front: 250 kPa (2.50 kgf/cm², 36 psi) Rear: 280 kPa (2.80 kgf/cm², 41 psi) Maximum load*: 186 kg (410 lb) * Total weight of rider, passenger, cargo and accessories EWA10511 WARNING Never overload your vehicle.
