TAPE PLAYBACK dTAPE (REC MUTING) s f,g dTAPE PUSH EJECTz SHIFT REV MODE f,g s Notes on cassettes •Use of a tape longer than 90 minutes is not recommended since they are extremely thin and easily damaged. If you should use it, do not change the tape operations such as play and stop frequently. •Take up any slack in the tape with a pencil or similar tool before use. Slack tape may get entangled in the deck mechanism and become damaged. En Playback Use only type I (normal) tapes. 1 Press PUSH EJECTz to open the cassette holder. 2 Insert the tape. Insert with the exposed side down, and press PUSH EJECTz to close the cassette holder. To select a reverse mode Hold down SHIFT and press REV MODE on the remote repeatedly. The mode changes as follows; "p" : Plays one side only "[" : Plays from the front side to the back sides once. "]" : Plays both sides repeatedly To stop playback Press s. To change the playback side Press dTAPE (REC MUTING) (dTAPE) in playback mode. To rewind or fast forward Press f or g. 3 Press dTAPE (REC MUTING) (dTAPE) to start play. To reset the tape counter Press s in stop mode, and the tape counter in the display is reset to "0000". Reading the indicators l: The front side is being played (forward). Opening and closing the cassette holder will also reset the tape counter. j: The back side is being played (reverse). To eject the tape Press PUSH EJECTz after the deck stops completely. 17
