Power Management Setup The Power Management menu lets you configure your system to most effectively save energy while operating in a manner consistent with your own style of computer use. The following screen shows the Power Management parameters and their default settings: The following table describes the parameters found in this menu. Settings in boldface are the default and suggested settings. Parameter ACPI Function ACPI Suspend Type Description Options This item is to activate the ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Management Interface) Function. If your operating system is ACPI aware, such as Windows 98SE/2000/Me, select Enabled. Enabled Disabled This item specifies the power saving modes for ACPI function. S1(POS): The S1 sleep mode is a low power state. In this state, no system context (CPU or chipset) is lost and hardware maintains all system context. S3 (STR): The S3 sleep mode is s power-down state in which power is supplied only to essential components such as main memory and wake-capable devices and all system context is saved to main memory.
