This saves power and ensures your smartphone does not unintentionally use any services. Your smartphone will lock automatically if it is not used for one minute. Waking your smartphone If the screen is off and the smartphone does not react to any taps on the screen or front panel button, then it has been locked and is in sleep mode. Press the power button to wake your smartphone. Unlock your smartphone by touching the middle of the screen and drag to the left or right. Lock screen apps To activate frequently used applications, tap one of the four Lock screen apps on the bottom of the screen then drag to the left or right. This opens that application immediately. Note: To change these applications tap and hold an empty area on the the Home screen, then select the icon. Tap a shortcut and select the app you want to add to the lock screen. Security Options For additional security, you may set a code or number that must be entered to access the tablet, such as an unlock pattern (a set of dots that must be tapped in the correct order). Open the Application menu and then tap Settings > Security > Screen lock. Note: If you forget your unlock pattern, please refer to "Unlock pattern" on page 42. To turn off your smartphone (even when locked), press and hold the power button for one second. You will then be asked to confirm the shut down. To force a shutdown, press and hold the power button for four seconds. 13

Locking your smartphone
If you will not use your smartphone for a while, briefly press the power button to
lock access. This saves power and ensures your smartphone does not
unintentionally use any services. Your smartphone will lock automatically if it is not
used for one minute.
