Step 5 Click Next to accept the default destination folder to install the software or click Browse to manually select a different destination folder. Step 6 Click Finish. Restart the computer if you are using Windows 98/ ME or if you are prompted to do so. Section 2 Install Cardbus and Driver Step 1 After the computer is restarted, insert the Cardbus adapter into the computer. The Found New Hardware Wizard will appear. See Fig 2.1 Fig 2.1 Step 2 Select Install the software automatically and click Next. Step 3 If you are prompted for the location of the driver, browse to the Drivers folder on your CD-ROM drive or type D:\Drivers\ (where D is the letter of your CD-ROM drive) and click OK. See Fig 2.2 Fig 2.2 Note: For Windows XP/2000, click Continue Anyway or Yes if the Windows logo compatibility message appears. Step 4 Click Finish to complete the driver installation. Section 3 Configure Basic Cardbus Settings Access the WLAN Cardbus Utility After installing the software and driver for the Cardbus, you should use the WLAN Cardbus Utility to configure the appropriate settings in order to establish connection with your wireless network. You can access the utility by double-clicking the WLAN Cardbus Utility icon in the System Tray. Configure Basic Cardbus Settings
Access the WLAN Cardbus Utility
After installing the software and driver for the Cardbus, you should use the
WLAN Cardbus Utility to configure the appropriate settings in order to
establish connection with your wireless network.
You can access the utility by double-clicking the WLAN Cardbus Utility icon
in the System Tray.
