When disengaged, the channel 4 signal normally routes to the PHONES output without effects. (10) FBQ button activates the FBQ Feedback Detection system. The frequencies causing feedback are shown by the brightly lit fader LEDs. Simply lower the level of the respective frequency range until feedback disappears and the LED goes out. (11) CLIP LED lights when the signal from the channel FX sends overloads the processor. When the CLIP LED lights up please reduce the effects input signal by using the respective FX control(s). (12) SIG LED lights up when the effects processor receives an input signal. (13) FX display shows the currently selected preset. (14) LEVEL control in the master section is used to adjust the main output volume. (15) SHAPE button applies a special filter to the MASTER output to increase the sound's clarity and definition in noisy environments. (16) PHONES LEVEL control adjusts the headphones output level. (17) POWER switch turns the unit on or off. You should always make sure that the POWER switch is in the "Off" position when initially connecting the unit to the mains. (18) POWER SOURCE jack accepts the included IEC power cable. (19) LINE OUT connectors send out a post-EQ audio signal to external devices. The XLR connectors provide a balanced signal suitable for connection to mixing or recording consoles, while the ¼" connectors provide an unbalanced signal suitable for additional amplifiers or other line-level devices. Both XLR and ¼" connectors may be used simultaneously. (20) STEREO LINK connection allows for true stereo operation between two ULTRATONE amplifiers. You can connect the OUT of one ULTRATONE to the LINK IN of another keyboard amp which then serves as slave to achieve a true stereo sound. (21) AUX IN connection accepts signals from CD players, MP3 players or other sound sources using RCA connectors. (22) LINE inputs for channels 2-4 accept unbalanced stereo signals through paired ¼" TS connectors. For mono input signals please use the L (MONO) connector. (23) LINE/MIC input section for channel 1 features an additional XLR connection in addition to dual ¼" TS connectors. Use the XLR connection for balanced signals from microphones or other devices (+15 V phantom power is available to power condenser microphones). Both XLR and ¼" connectors can be used simultaneously, while the channel 1 LEVEL control adjusts the signal level for both inputs. (24) GND LIFT switch disconnects (switch pressed) the ground connection at the LINE OUT XLR outputs to eliminate hum and other noise resulting from ground loops. (25) SUB OUT connector provides the line-level mono subwoofer signal for connection to the input of a power amp or active subwoofer. (26) FOOT SW jack connects an optional footswitch using a footswitch using a ¼" TS plug to activate/deactivate the effects processor.
