Under normal circumstances, the DC voltage from the car cigarette lighter fluctuates between 12 volts to 14 volts. Our overvoltage protection will activate once the voltage rises above 16 volts and the inverter will turn off. Power inverters are not intended for continuous use over extended periods of time. • Store and use the inverter and any electrical appliance away from moisture and water. • Do not start your vehicle engine with the inverter plugged in and the power switch in the "ON" position. Do not use this inverter to operate any electrical appliance that has a heating element, such as hair dryers, toaster ovens, coffee makers, etc. Devices with heating elements can be extremely demanding in terms of power consumption and may exceed maximum capacity of the AC adapter units. Placing the inverter too close to a hot surface or heat-generating device may cause the inverter to overheat.
