The 80 Series pistols use a conventional blowback operating system and feature Beretta's unique open slide design. Proven though years of military trials and field combat, the open slide design virtually eliminates stove piping and other extraction problems. This is achieved by creating a 180° window for extraction and ejection of spent cases. The increased ejection port area provides the user the reliability necessary in a defensive firearm.
