Speaker Placement here to stand the speakers ce the shape of your speakers (Figure 1). For best acoustic performance, stand the left speaker on the left side of your room. Stand the right speaker on the right side. For your convenience, each speaker is labeled "Left" or "Right" on the back. They are designed as floorstanding speakers only. Floor Il e the speakers 4 to 12 feet apart and 1 to 3 feet from side walls (Figure 2). Make sure the rear of each speaker is at least 3 inches from back wall. For full performance, avoid blocking the speaker ports. To prevent injury to children and pets, and to protect your speaker investment, do not place your 501 speakers in high traffic areas where they can be accidentally knocked over. For more bass response, move your speakers closer to the walls or corners of your room. To reduce bass response, move them farther from the walls. This will soften heavy or booming bass. To prevent video interference, make sure the lower inside corner of each speaker is at least 24 inches from your video screen (Figure 3). The twiddlers near the top of each speaker are magnetically shielded to prevent interference, but the woofer near the bottom is not. It needs to be kept at least 24 inches from the TV screen.
