Connecting the Acoustimass® Bass System to Your Stereo System Step 1: Before you start Caution:Unplugyourreceiveroramplifier fromthe wall outlet. If your bookshelf speakers are already hooked up to your receiver or amplifier, disconnect them, too. A. You willfind four identical sets of wires packed with your Acoustimass Bass System. Two sets will connect theAcoustimass RatsSystem to yourreceiver oramplifier, the othertwo will connect your Bose bookshelf speakers to the Acoustimass Bass System. B. Examine the ends of the wires. In each set one wire willhavea red orother uniquemarker.For each connection you make, always connect the wire withthered (or other unique)marker to the "+" or red terminal. Step 2: Connecting your Acoustimass Bass System C. On your Acoustimass Bass System module, find the left channel terminals located near the bottom on thesystem's plasticend cap marked"INPUTS FROMAMPOR RECEIVER"(seeFigure4). Depress thered("+")tab.insert the lead with the red (orunique) marker (seeFigure5),and release the tab. Repeat the process for the black terminal and the other lead. D. Locate thespeaker outputs on youramplifier or receiver. Connect the other ends of the wire from the left channel of the Acoustimass Bass module to the terminals marked "L" or "LEFT." Make sure that theleadwith thered(orunique) markeris connected tothe"+"and the other lead is connected to the "-" terminal. E. Repeat steps CandD fortheright channel. Step 3: Connecting your Bose bookshelf speakers. F. On your Acoustimass Bass System module, find the left channel terminals marked "OUTPUTS TO SPEAKERS" located near the top of the plastic end cap (seeFrgure4). Depressthered ("+")tab, inserttheleadwith thered(or unique) marker, and release the tab. The lead should be held snugly in place by the terminal. Repeat the process for the black terminal and the other lead. G. Locate theterminalson therearof the bookshelf speaker to be used for the left side of the room. Connect the other end of the left channel wires from the Acoustimass Bass System to the left bookshelf speaker.Makesurethat thelead with • the red (or unique) marker is connected to the -+" or red terminal on your bookshelf speaker. Repeat the process for the black terminal and the other lead. H.Repeat stepsFand G fortheright channel. Step 4: Get ready...enjoy! I. Beforeyouplug inyourreceiver or amplifier.make sure that no strandsofwire fromany terminalare brushingagainst anyotherterminal.Such "bridged" wires createshodcircuitsthatcan damage your receiver or amplifier. J. Plug inyourreceiver, turnon your system,and enjoy your music! •

In

set

wire

red

other
unique
marker.
For
each
connection
you
make,
always
connect
the
wire
with
the
red
(or
other
unique)
marker
to
the
"+"
or
red
terminal.
Step
2:
Connecting
your
Acoustimass
Bass

C.
On
your
Acoustimass
Bass
System
module,
fi
nd
the
left
channel
terminals
located
near
the
bottom
on
the
system's
plastic
end
cap
marked
"INPUTS
FROM
AMP
OR
RECEIVER"
(see
Figure
4).
Depress
the
red
("+")
tab.
insert
the
lead
with
the
red
(or
unique)
marker
(see
Figure
5),
and
release
the
tab.
Repeat
the
process
for
the
black
terminal
and
the
other
lead.

Locate
the
speaker
outputs
on
your
amplifier
or
receiver.
Connect
the
other
ends
of
the
wire
from
the
left
channel
of
the
Acoustimass
Bass
module
to
the
terminals
marked
"L"
or
"LEFT."
Make
sure
that
the
lead
with
the
red
(or
unique)
marker
is
connected
to
the
"+"
and
the
other
lead
is
connected
to
the
"-"
terminal.
E.
Repeat
steps

for
the
right
channel.

3:
Connecting

shelf
speakers.
F.
On
your
Acoustimass
Bass
System
module,
find
the
left
channel
terminals
marked
"OUTPUTS
TO
SPEAKERS"
located
near
the
top
of
the
plastic
end
cap
(see
Frgu
re
4).
Depress
the
red
("+")
tab,
insert
the
lead
with
the
red
(or
unique)
marker,
and
release
the
tab.
The
lead
should
be
held
snugly
in
place
by
the
terminal.
Repeat
the
process
for
the
black
terminal
and
the
other
lead.
G.
Locate
the
terminals
on
the
rear
of
the
bookshelf
speaker
to
be
used
for
the
left
side
of
the
room.
Connect
the
other
end
of
the
left
channel
wires
from
the
Acoustimass
Bass
System
to
the
left
bookshelf
speaker.
Make
sure
that
the
lead
with
the
red
(or
unique)
marker
is
connected
to
the
-+"
or
red
terminal
on
your
bookshelf
speaker.
Repeat
the
process
for
the
black
terminal
and
the
other
lead.
H.
Repeat

the
right
channel.

4:
Get
ready...enjoy!
I.
Before
you
plug
in
your
receiver
or
amplifier.
make
sure
that
no
strands
of
wire
from
any
terminal
are
brushing
against
any
other
terminal.
Such
"bridged"
wires
create
shod
circuits
that
can
damage
your
receiver
or
amplifier.

Plug
in
your
receiver,
turn
on
your
system,
and
enjoy
your
music!
