Make sure that all discs can be directly selected if you have problems operating your CD changer Note: This appliesonlytochangers thathave the direct:: functionandallownext discselection. Directselection c, .7 ispossibleonly from the deluxeremote control. 1. '.:axe sure that you have at least three discs loaded in your CD changer. You may need to try several different codes to find the one that lets the Lifestyle' remote contra operate your changer. Some manufacturers have used many different control codes for their CD changers over the years. or they have used one Control code for several different changer models. 2. Using the lifestyle' remote control, press AUX, then 3, then the blank key. 3. Operation is correct if your changer begins to play disc 3. If not, continue: 4. the AUX key. Make sure that your CD changer works with its own remote control If you nave trouble with direct seection of discs and tracks, use the following procedure to make sure that your CD changer works with its ownremote Control: 5. .a the CD cover by pressing on its latch. 6. PressSTORE once,and releaseit. 7. Use the MANUAL TUNING A / V keys until '2' appears in the display area. Note:Ifyouareusinga Pioneer 18-disc changer, use the MANUAL TUNING A /V keysuntil '3'appears. 8. T^ confirm the code you wish to enter, press the STORE o cancel the code entry, press the ERASE key. The disc-access code willdisappearfrom thedisplay. andthe frontofyourCE-1ControlExpander.'"unit willflash once. 9. Repeat Step 2above to verify that allCDs can be directly selected. Now, your Lifestyle' remote control should operate your CD chancier properly. If the problem persists, see "Customer Ser T page 39. To select discs and tracks on your CD changer Note: Directselectionofdiscsispossible only from the deluxe remotecontrol. Thestandardremotecontrolcanselect the next disc with theAUXkey. For a specific track, first press the number of the track, then press PLAY. For example. to go to track 14, press: 1.4-PLAY. For V' next disc, press the blank key (lower right on the deluxe rerr .ntrol). 1. Turn on your CD changer. Follow the instructions in your CD changer owner's manual to verify proper operation. Use the play/pause. fast forward, fast reverse, skip forward. skip reverse, and stop keys on the changer's remote control. 2. Load a disc with 10 or more tracks. Go directly to track 10. 3. Make sure you can go directly to any disc from any other disc. Make sure your CD changer works with the CE-1 Control Expander unit. 1. See -lismg yc,,r . afferent components.- page 35. Make sure you have followed those procedures properly. 2. Check the operation of the remote control for your music center. Try the ►/ II (play/pause). (fast forward). 44 (fast reverse), ►N (skip forward), 144 (skip reverse). and STOP keys. See "Using your remote control." page 36 3. If your CD changer still does not operate, try entering another control code for the same brand of changer. 4. Repeat Step 2 to make sure the CD changer works with your Lifestyle' remote control.
