FIRST-TIME OPERATION Dansk DEsepuatsñcohl FItralniaçnaois Nederlands Svenska English FIRST-TIME OPERATION 1 2 Figure 16 Contents of the ADAPTiQ audio calibration system carton Prepare your TV • Turn off your TV sound: To allow your LIFESTYLE® system to provide the premium sound it is designed to deliver, the internal speakers in your TV should be turned off. OPTION A - Turn the volume down all the way. This is the easiest method. OPTION B - Change the speaker on/off setting in the onscreen TV setup menu. If you need help, refer to the owner's guide that came with your TV. • Select the right video input on your TV: Select the video input that is connected to the VS-2 output. This is usually done in the features menu of your TV. Refer to your TV owner's guide for help. Open the ADAPTiQ® audio calibration system carton Your system includes the Bose® ADAPTiQ® audio calibration system. It includes two compact discs and a special ADAPTiQ calibration headset (Figure 16). • Play both discs when all of the speakers are where you want them, your furnishings are arranged as intended, and all of the system connections are completed. • Allow approximately 30 minutes to complete the process. • Begin the process when you are unlikely to be disturbed and when the acoustic measurement tones are unlikely to disturb anyone else. Disc 1 - Verifies that your speakers are connected correctly and offers information you may find useful. Disc 2 - Includes the ADAPTiQ audio calibration system and provides instructions for using it. The ADAPTiQ calibration tailors the sound of your LIFESTYLE® system very specifically to the acoustics in your room. ADAPTiQ calibration headset - Designed to be worn above your ears, this special headset takes acoustic measurements for you during the calibration process. Put on the headset only when prompted by Disc 2. You can play Disc 2 and calibrate your system again if you need to move any of the speakers or move the system to another room. 24
