Other problems Problem Recommendation The printer cannot print at all. Your PC shows the following error message: 'There was an error writing to LPT1: (or BRUSB) for the printer.' ■ Check that the printer cable is not damaged or broken. ■ If you have an interface-switching device, make sure that you choose the correct printer. Printing with the serial interface Problem Cannot print from application software. (For connecting using the RS-232C interface only) The printer prints the first couple of pages correctly but some following pages have text missing. Recommendation ■ If you are using a serial interface, make sure that the slide switch of the serial interface is in the correct position. Make sure that the interface settings have been properly set up in the INTERFACE menu using the control panel. ■ This problem is usually related to serial interface settings. Your computer is not recognizing the printer input buffer's full signal. This could be caused by a wrong serial cable connection (cable is not wired properly or is too long) or a wrong setup of your computer serial interface. TROUBLESHOOTING 6 - 28
