Remove Technical Reference 10. Remove the four hex screws securing the tension base. Remove tension base from the machine by disconnecting the harness at the back and the ground wire held on by a screw to the tension base mount. 11. Loosen the top dead center stopper hex screws. 12. Loosen the needle bar clamp screws. Top dead center stopper Needle bar clamp Pull needle bar up here Presser spring plate holder Spring 13. Pull needle bar up slowly at the top. As you are doing so, you will need to remove the spring, presser spring plate holder, needle bar clamp, top dead center stopper and finally the needle bar cushion. Do not remove needle bar completely. Pulling the needle bar up until the bottom of it just passes the rubber cushion will be enough. 14. Install new rubber cushion. 15. Slowly lower needle bar down installing the parts removed in step 13 in reverse order. 16. Repeat for all needle bars. 17. Install the parts listed in steps 7 and 8 for all needles. 3
