For more details, press Reports, 1 on your fax or see your Owner's Manual. 3 Load Paper The paper cassette can hold about 100 sheets of 20-lb. paper. A. Open the paper cover. B. Place up to 100 sheets of paper in the paper holder. Do not allow the level of paper to pass maximum paper line on the paper guides. C. Close the paper cover. Maximum Paper Line 1 Packing List Check that you have the following items: Document Support Telephone Line Cord Telephone Handset Handset Curled Cord Owner's Manual Paper Wire Extension Starter Print Cartridge in the machine (Up to 30 pages) StartCard/ Quick Reference Card 2 Attach the Document Support and Paper Wire Extensions A. Insert the document support into the openings as shown in the illustration. Document Support B. Attach the paper wire extension. Paper Wire Extension Keep the packing materials for possible future transport. If you do not pack the machine properly, it may void your warranty. 4 Install Phone Line and Power Cord 5 If you are sharing one Phone line with an external telephone answering device, connect it now NO ! TAD Tap the stack of paper so the edges are even. Paper Guides Acceptable Paper Size: Letter and Legal Weight: 17 lb. - 24 lb. Thickness: .0031 inches - .0039 inches Telephone Line Cord A. Connect the Handset. B. Connect the telephone line. C. Connect the power cord. 6 Set Date and Time A. Press Menu/Set, 1, 1. 1.DATE/TIME B. Enter the last two digits of the year, and then press Menu/Set. ENTER YEAR:XX C. Enter two digits for the month, and then press Menu/Set. ENTER MONTH:XX D. Enter two digits for the day, and then press Menu/Set. ENTER DAY:XX E. Enter the time in 24-hour format and press Menu/Set. ENTER TIME:XX:XX F. Press Stop/Exit. 7 Set Station ID A. Press Menu/Set, 1, 2. 2.STATION ID B. Enter your fax number (up to 20 digits), and then press Menu/Set. FAX: C. Enter your telephone number (up to 20 digits), and then press Menu/Set. TEL: D. Enter your name (up to 20 characters), and then press Menu/Set. NAME: E. Press Stop/Exit. FAX ONLY The machine automatically answers every call as a fax. FAX/TEL For Receiving fax and voice calls on one line. TAD:ANSWER MACH. (For FAX-775 and FAX-775Si only) An External TAD (telephone answering device) answers every call and stores voice messages in memory, fax messages are printed. An external telephone operates as if it is in MANUAL Mode when it is connected to your Brother Machine. MANUAL You control the phone line and must answer every call yourself.
