UTILITY STITCHES Quilting Sandwiching batting between the top and bottom layers of fabric is called "quilting". Quilts can easily be sewn using the walking foot and the quilting guide. ■ Using the optional quilting guide Use the quilting guide to sew parallel stitches that are equally spaced. Baste the fabric to be quilted. 1 Attach the walking foot. 2 • For details, refer to "Using the walking foot" (page 40). Select a stitch. 3 • For details, refer to "Selecting stitching" (page 68). Quilting
Sandwiching batting between the top and bottom
layers of fabric is called “quilting”. Quilts can easily
be sewn using the walking foot and the quilting
guide.

Baste the fabric to be quilted.

Attach the walking foot.

Select a stitch.
