Pulling up the bobbin thread When making gathers or before free-motion quilting, first pull up the bobbin thread as described below. Insert the bobbin into the bobbin case. a • Refer to steps a through d of "Installing the bobbin" on page 18. Carefully pull the upper thread upward to pull f out the end of the bobbin thread. Pass the bobbin thread through the slot. b Do not cut the thread with the cutter. a 2 b • Leave the bobbin cover removed.
