lubricants can be wiped off with lens tissue or a soft, clean cotton cloth moistened with lens cleaning fluid. FIREFLY CROSSHAIRS (for select Elite® riflescopes with Firefly technology) How many times have you been able to see the buck, but could not find your crosshairs? Patent-pending FIREFLY™ technology gives you a significant improvement in your ability to see the crosshairs in low light. To use, simply charge the crosshairs by shining a flashlight into the eye piece of the scope for two minutes about one hour prior to dusk or dawn. You can see the crosshairs glow by covering the front of the scope with your hand and looking in, but the real test is seeing how it works at dusk. For the first few minutes after being charged, the crosshairs will glow brightly, but will then become black again. Once the light drops to where the crosshairs would regularly disappear, the FIREFLY™ reticle will take on a slight glow. If your crosshairs are still black and you can see them well enough to shoot, it is not yet dark enough for the Firefly to be visible. If you have a hard timing picking up the crosshairs, just move your head back and forth and they will be easier to see. As it gets darker, the glow from the crosshairs will appear brighter as the surrounding light gets dimmer. CAUTION: Do not charge your FIREFLY reticle by pointing the scope at the sun, as you will burn out the crosshairs just like you would on any riflescope due to the "magnifying glass" effect. EYEPIECE FOCUSING This adjusts the focus so that the reticle (cross hairs) appears sharp to your eyes. All Bushnell® riflescopes are focused at the factory for 20/20 or corrected vision. If the reticle appears sharp, no adjustment is needed. If the reticle appears unsharp, adjust as follows. TRADITIONAL DESIGN 1. Release the Eyepiece from the Lock Ring by grasping the eyepiece with one hand and turning it counterclockwise away from the Lock Ring. No tools are needed. 2. Point the scope at the sky or a blank wall and with your eye about three inches from the eyepiece, turn the Eyepiece (clockwise for nearsightedness, counterclockwise for farsightedness) until the reticle appears sharp. 3. Check the focus by looking away for a few seconds and then quickly glancing back through the scope. Refocus if necessary. 4. When satisfied with the focus, retighten the Lock Ring against the Eyepiece. FAST FOCUS EYEPIECE DESIGN (for select Elite® riflescopes) The eyepiece is designed to provide a precise fast focus. Simply look at a distant object for several seconds without using your scope. Then, shift your vision quickly, looking 3

FIREFLY CROSSHAIRS
(for select Elite

riflescopes with Firefly technology)
How many times have you been able to see the buck, but could not find your
crosshairs?
Patent-pending FIREFLY
technology gives you a significant improvement
in your ability to see the crosshairs in low light. To use, simply charge the crosshairs by
shining a flashlight into the eye piece of the scope for two minutes about one hour
prior to dusk or dawn.
You can see the crosshairs glow by covering the front of the scope with your hand and
looking in, but the real test is seeing how it works at dusk. For the first few minutes
after being charged, the crosshairs will glow brightly, but will then become black again.
Once the light drops to where the crosshairs would regularly disappear, the FIREFLY
reticle will take on a slight glow.
If your crosshairs are still black and you can see them
well enough to shoot, it is not yet dark enough for the Firefly to be visible. If you have
a hard timing picking up the crosshairs, just move your head back and forth and they
will be easier to see. As it gets darker, the glow from the crosshairs will appear brighter
as the surrounding light gets dimmer.
CAUTION:
Do not charge your FIREFLY reticle by pointing the scope at the sun, as
you will burn out the crosshairs just like you would on any riflescope due to the
"magnifying glass" effect.
