Taking Pictures in Flash AUTO Mode Using Focus Lock Use focus lock when you want to take a properly focused shot where the subject is not in the center of the picture. • Set the focus as described in step 2 "Taking Pictures in Flash AUTO Mode". Once your subject is in focus, keep the shutter button held down halfway as you recompose the shot with the subject to one side of the viewfinder.
