Chapter 8 Troubleshooting 1. Troubleshooting If any of the following problems occurs, solve the problem as described in the corresponding solution. Cannot use an LDAP address book (certain users only) Cannot update the settings in the Web menu Cannot access the Web menu Cannot create a new folder (shared folder/FTP server) Specifying a mail address as the address and then starting scanning results in an error Cannot edit the address book/ job buttons (certain users only) Streaks appear in images Paper becomes jammed Paper jams occur frequently Can only select certain destinations. See "Restricting User Functions" on p. 4-8. Contact the administrator of the ScanFront. The ScanFront is being used or a user has not logged out. Check the ScanFront status and then try again. The IP address assigned from the DHCP server has changed. Contact the administrator of the ScanFront, and check the IP address assigned to the ScanFront. Permission to write to the shared folder has not been granted for the user name and password that were entered. Contact the administrator of the shared folder. The mail server settings have not been registered, or have been deleted. Contact the administrator of the ScanFront. The administrator has set user function restrictions. See "Restriction to Edit" on p. 4-9. Contact the administrator of the ScanFront. The scanning glass is dirty. Clean the scanning glass. (See p. 7-3.) If there are scratches on a scanning glass, contact your local authorized Canon dealer. The rollers are dirty. Clean the rollers. (See p. 7-3.) The rollers (consumable parts) have worn out. Purchase an roller replacement kit and then replace the rollers. (See p. 7-8.) The administrator has set user function restrictions. Contact the administrator of the ScanFront. 8-2
