Pioneering technology Every Canon digital camera features innovative technology and optics refined for over 70 years - to deliver outstanding results every time.* MEGAPIXEL POWER The PowerShot G11 and S90 include Dual Anti-Noise System - a powerful collaboration between the high-sensitivity 10.0 Megapixel CCD sensor and the enhanced DIGIC 4 processor. Dual Anti-Noise System takes advantage of available light to deliver significantly increased image quality in all lighting conditions, while reducing image noise by up to 75% compared to previous models. SMART AUTO Smart Auto mode with Scene Detection technology makes taking great pictures easier than ever. It automatically detects people, movement and scene type (from 22* variables) and applies the best settings for optimum output - great for those who love to just point and shoot. For night shots, it detects if the camera is on a steady surface, such as a tripod, and uses a lower ISO to ensure image quality. Smart Auto mode also increases image dynamic range - avoiding highlight blow-out on bright scenes - and reduces dynamic range in low-contrast scenes, to improve contrast. SMART FLASH EXPOSURE Smart Flash Exposure intelligently controls flash power and usage, for natural results in a variety of conditions. Focusing distance and scene information are used to achieve an optimum balance between the ambient light of the scene and flash power. In very bright conditions, the camera can detect shadows on a subject's face, and use the flash to eliminate them. When shooting up close, overexposure is avoided by sensing how reflective the subject is and reducing the flash power to compensate. LENS KNOW-HOW The benefits of more than 70 years of lens-making heritage can be seen in every Canon image. Innovative technologies, such as Canon's UA lens, keep lenses compact and deliver amazing clarity. Pioneering Canon-developed technologies like the optical Image Stabilizer (IS) and Ultrasonic Motor (USM) offer further improvements in image quality and response times. And an extensive range of zooms - covering everything from 24mm wide imaging to 20x telephoto reach - offers the ultimate in flexible, powerful framing possibilities. DIGIC PROCESSING Canon's DIGIC image processor is the brain inside every Canon digital camera - working with the image sensor to ensure optimum image quality and fast operation, as well as powering intelligent technologies like Face Detection and Motion Detection Technology. DIGIC 4 is Canon's most advanced processor yet, offering near-instant start-up, great detail and low noise (even at high ISOs) and enhanced movie functionality. i-CONTRAST Bringing out the hidden details in your shots is easy with i-Contrast. Powered by DIGIC, it works in either shooting or playback mode to brighten dark areas - and thanks to DIGIC, the effect looks natural, with minimal noise. Intelligent processing also ensures that lighter areas are not blown out - so it's ideal for backlit subjects and other shots with a lot of shadow. Without Smart Flash Exposure With Smart Flash Exposure On bright days, Smart Flash Exposure can intelligently add flash to fill-in shadows on the face 4 Without i-Contrast With i-Contrast i-Contrast beautifully exposes detail, both in dark and bright areas of images
