Changing the ISO Speed Press the o button. Select a menu item. ● Press the op buttons to select a menu item, then press the m button. Approximate Values for ISO Speed Automatically sets the optimal speed for shooting mode and shooting condition. Automatically sets the optimal speed, not only for shooting mode and shooting condition, but also for subject or camera motion. Depending on the scene, the speed may be set higher than in ISO Auto, resulting in less subject blur and camera shake. Low Fine weather condition, outdoor shooting. Cloudy, Twilight Night view High Dark indoor Setting the optimal ISO Speed • Lowering the ISO speed results in crisper images. • Raising the ISO speed results in a faster shutter speed and thus in reduced camera shake. The flash reaches a greater distance to the subject. However, images will be coarser. • When the camera is set to or , you can press the shutter button halfway to display the automatically set ISO speed. • You can raise the ISO speed even higher with the ISO 3200 setting (p. 58). 72
