Notes on the PTP Function Your camera supports the PTP function. If you are using Windows XP or Mac OS X, you can easily download JPEG images by simply connecting the camera to your computer. However, please note that there are several restrictions with the PTP function. If you encounter any of the problems below during image download, or to download RAW images, use the software bundled on the SOLUTION DISK. Windows XP and Mac OS X ■ The PTP function cannot be used if you are using the LCD monitor. Always switch the LCD monitor display off before connecting the camera to your computer. ■ The PTP function cannot be used at the same time as the SOLUTION DISK software. ■ You cannot operate or take pictures with the camera when it is connected to your computer and you are using the PTP function. ■ Vertical images become normal (horizontal) orientation when downloaded. ■ Depending upon your computer's operating system, you may not be able to download RAW images even if they are displayed. ■ It may take a few minutes, after connecting the camera, until you can download images. Windows XP ■ You may not be able to download the camera images if there are more than approximately 1000 images in the camera. ■ Protected images on the camera may lose this setting once they are downloaded onto the computer. ■ Images will not rotate in the [Scanner and Camera Wizard] dialog box even if you click [Rotate]. ■ RAW image download differs according to your Windows XP system as shown below. ➤ If Service Pack 1 is installed RAW images cannot be downloaded with the Scanners and Cameras Wizard. Use Windows Explorer to download images. ➤ If Service Pack 1 is not installed RAW images* cannot be downloaded. Also, other images of different formats may not be downloadable if the camera contains RAW format images. * With Windows Explorer, RAW images display as BMP files but they cannot be opened or downloaded. RAW images with sounds do not display. Mac OS X (Mac OS X 10.1 and 10.2) ■ With Image Capture, you may not be able to download images a second time, if they have already been downloaded onto the computer. (Mac OS X 10.1) ■ Do not use iPhoto to download RAW images. Use Image Capture instead. (Mac OS X 10.2) ■ You may not be able to download the camera images with iPhoto if there are more than approximately 900 images in the camera. In this case, please use Image Capture to download images. ■ RAW images cannot be downloaded. ■ The Exif* version may change to 2.1 and image information may be modified when downloading images with Image Capture. To download images without any information changes, use the following procedures: 1. Connect the camera to the computer and prepare it to transfer data. 2. Start Image Capture. 3. In the screen that appears, click [Options]. 4. Remove the checkmark from [Embed Colorsync profile] in the [Download Options] tab and click [OK]. * Images shot with cameras complying with Exif Print incorporate shooting settings information, such as the shooting conditions and scene mode, along with the image. Notes on the PTP Function
Your camera supports the PTP function. If you are using Windows XP or Mac OS X, you can

(Mac OS X 10.2)
You may not be able to download the camera images with iPhoto if there are more than
approximately 900 images in the camera. In this case, please use Image Capture to download
images.
RAW images cannot be downloaded.

downloading images with Image Capture. To download images without any information

Connect the camera to the computer and prepare it to transfer data.
