7Safety Release Lock This prevents shutter release if there is no film loaded or if there is no lens attached. It is particularly effective against missed shots due to no film. If you press the shutter button while there is no film in the camera or no lens attached, " " (F: film) or " " (L: lens) will blink in the viewfinder and on the LCD panel. 1 Move the > arrow to the icon. • While looking at the LCD panel, press the button. In a Basic Zone Mode In low-light or backlit conditions, the built-in flash will pop up and fire automatically (except in modes). In a Creative Zone Mode Press the button to pop up the built-in flash. T : Use this mode for automatic flash photography. The flash sync speed (1/60-1/125 sec.) and aperture value will be set automatically as with the (Full Auto) mode. R : Use this mode if you want to set the flash sync speed manually (within 30 sec. - 1/125 sec.). The camera will set the flash aperture value automatically to obtain a correct flash exposure. 44
