mode: Transferring movies 3 Camcorder: When the connection is successfully established, [PC Connection] appears on the screen. 4 Computer: Depending on the software you chose to install, Transfer Utility SD or VideoBrowser SD will start up automatically. • Transfer Utility SD: Click [Video file import] to start transferring files. For details about using the software, click [Help] to open the Software Guide (PDF file). • VideoBrowser SD: Click in the menu panel to start transferring files. For details about using the software, click to open the Software Guide (PDF file). mode: Transferring photos 3 Camcorder: When the connection is successfully established, [PC Connection] appears on the screen. 4 Computer: The camcorder will appear as a new device (or drive), for example, [Canon FS40]*. Use the program of your choice or the standard application built into your computer's operating system to transfer or copy your photos to the computer. • Windows 7/Vista: Your photos can be found under [Canon FS40]* > [Removable Storage] > [DCIM] > [xxxCANON], where "xxx" is a folder number between 101 and 998. • Windows XP: Your photos can be found under [Canon FS40]*. • Mac OS X: iPhoto will start up automatically and [Canon FS40]* will appear as a new device. * The actual name of the device will show your camcorder's model. IMPORTANT • When the camcorder is connected to a computer: - Do not open the memory card slot cover and do not remove the memory card. - Do not change or delete any of the camcorder's folders or files directly from the computer as this may result in permanent data loss. Always use only the supplied PIXELA's software to save your movies on the computer. 84 External Connections
