WHITE BALANCE Canon iSAPS Technology ensures fast, accurate, automatic white balance compensation. PowerShot cameras also let you select from preset modes covering common lighting conditions including daylight, cloudy, tungsten, fluorescent, flash, or underwater. You can even perform a manual white balance adjustment using a white reference target, storing the measurement as a custom setting for later recall. Daylight: For shooting outdoors on sunny days. Cloudy: For shooting outdoors on cloudy days. Tungsten: Provides a good balance with photofloods or incandescent household lights. Fluorescent: Compensates for the greenish cast caused by common fluorescent tubes. Fluorescent H: For recording under daylight fluorescent lighting. Flash: A good starting point with many studio strobes. Underwater*: For shooting underwater with a camera protected by an optional Waterproof Case. SAFETY ZOOM SAFETY ZOOM Set a minimum acceptable megapixel count for images taken when using the digital zoom, and Safety Zoom will let you make optimal use of the digital zoom range. The zoom pauses at the end of your preset safety range, rather than at the end of the optical zoom range. Movie & Sound Recording FULL HD MOVIES The Canon PowerShot SX1 IS with Full HD movie gives you the ultimate convenience of owning an advanced still camera that also creates superb movies. Full HD with 1920 x 1080 pixels captures your memories with dazzling clarity, realism and brilliance. VGA MOVIE RECORDING All PowerShot cameras offer smooth 30 fps, high quality movie clips captured in VGA (640 x 480). Some models also have VGA LP mode or QVGA mode (320 x 240). Zoom and exposure compensation continue to work on both stills and movies as does Face Detection AF/AE/FE/WB. And with the PowerShot SX1 IS and SX10 IS, you can shoot video with stereo sound. Several PowerShot models use MOV files, resulting in smaller file sizes while retaining all their startling detail and sparkling color. TIME LAPSE MOVIES* Time Lapse mode mimics the effect of time-lapse photography. Clips are recorded at one or two fps, then played back at 15 fps for a fascinating effect. DIGITAL TELE CONVERTER The digital tele converter feature lets you shoot subjects at great distances without mounting a separate tele converter lens. NIGHT DISPLAY FUNCTION When you are shooting at dusk or at night, Night Display function lets you see the LCD screen clearly. Objects in the screen are brightened to make shooting easy.
