The HR10's 10x HD Video Zoom Lens delivers full HD image quality, with an aspherical lens for low aberration, super spectra coating technology to reduce flare and ghosting, and a gradation ND system for excellent exposure in bright light. SuperRange Optical Image Stabilizer Canon's sophisticated SuperRange Optical Image Stabilizer corrects camcorder shake instantly to ensure steady shooting, even for hand-held video at long focal lengths and shots taken with the camcorder in motion as well as photos. And because it is an optical system, there is none of the degradation of image quality typical with electronic image stabilizers. Canon Full HD CMOS Sensor (1920 x 1080) Canon's expertise in designing and manufacturing CMOS sensors for its line of EOS Digital SLR cameras is now available in the Canon HR10 Camcorder. The 2.96 Megapixel Canon CMOS sensor captures full HD information at 1920 x 1080, giving your images the ultimate in realistic detail. Canon's advanced noise reduction technology, ensures the purity of each pixel even in dim light, minimizing noise and other aberrations. It incorporates an RGB Primary Color Filter with Bayer placement to deliver a sharp HD image with vibrant and accurate color reproduction. DIGIC DV II Image Processor Canon's next generation DIGIC DV II Image Processor was designed specifically for HD, with digital signal processing that ensures optimal photos as well. Color reproduction is extremely accurate across the tonal range, noise is minimized for clear, clean images, and power consumption is reduced for longer battery life. AVCHD† Format The HR10 uses the very latest standard developed for High Definition: AVCHD. By compressing video twice as efficiently as conventional methods, the AVCHD standard enables High Definition video to be recorded on a 3-inch DVD. And for a new level of convenience, simply pop the DVD into a compatible Blu-ray Disc™ Player to see your own movies take center stage in your HD home theater. DVD-R/-RW/-R DL formats are all supported. Instant AF Instant AF is Canon's next-generation autofocus technology. An external sensor works in combination with Canon's proven high-performance internal AF system to dramatically reduce focusing time and increase accuracy. It is especially effective when shooting at night, in high-brightness conditions or when following a moving subject. The high resolution of HD video makes focus more critical than ever, and Canon's Instant AF helps videographers capture HD images with expert precision. Quick Start Button The HR10 features a Quick Start button that places the camcorder in standby mode. Pressing the button again makes it ready for immediate use. The Quick Start button conserves battery power and ensures you'll never miss a shot: the ultimate in convenience. Random Access and Easy Editing The HR10's ability to record direct to DVD offers many advantages. You'll never tape over a once-in-a life time piece of footage: and movies are always recorded to a blank part of the DVD. And there's no need to rewind or fast forward. The Canon HR10 is bundled with a powerful software suite from Corel. This software allows you to easily perform a variety of functions such as AVCHD video editing (trim, reorder, and combine scenes; add music, titles, and transitions). And once you're finished, you can burn a full size AVCHD DVD or Standard Definition DVD. 24p Cinema Mode 24p Cinema Mode enables all aspiring moviemakers to achieve a professional "film-look." You can change the camcorder's frame rate to 24p, which provides the same frame rate as movie film. In addition, you can use the HR10's CINE setting, which changes the color and tonal characteristics, evoking the look and feel of a movie shown in a theater. For added flexibility, these settings can be used together, or independently. monitor the brightness of your shots, allowing you to adjust successive shots to your preference. It also features Direct Printing, making it simple, quick and convenient to produce high quality photos, just by connecting to any PictBridge compatible printer. Convenient HDMI Terminal The HR10 allows easy connection to today's latest HD televisions through its HDMI Terminal. Only one cable is needed to output a pure digital signal (video and audio) for the ultimate viewing experience. 3.1 Megapixel Photos Inside the HR10 Camcorder lives a full-featured Canon digital camera, allowing you to capture stunning 3.1 Megapixel high resolution photos (2048 x 1536) onto a tiny miniSD card. Just like an advanced Canon camera, the HR10 offers: 9-point AiAF (Auto Intelligent Auto Focus), Metering Modes, Shutter- and Aperture-Priority, Continuous Shooting Mode, Auto Exposure Bracketing, and a Built-in Flash with Red-eye Reduction. With the Histogram Display, you can Viewing Convenience and Expert Results The 2.7" Multi-Angle Vivid Widescreen LCD on the HR10 lets you see more of what your camcorder is recording. Using a hard coat AR surface and improved color reproduction, the scene in the LCD is more accurate to what you're capturing in the camcorder. Zoom in and/or enhance a subject's outline for perfect manual focus with the Focus Assist Button. Check your shots against the horizontal marker lines with Level Shot Control. Achieve professionallooking balance with easily visible Grid Markers. † The Canon HR10 can capture both Standard Definition and High Definition footage. High Definition footage in the AVCHD format can be finalized in camera or copied onto DVD media with included software. However, DVD media containing AVCHD footage should only be used in AVCHD compatible players otherwise the DVD player may fail to eject the media and may erase its contents without warning. Actual Size
