Adjustments for Better Print Quality > Color adjustment > When Using Rolls When Using Sheets An unused roll at least 10 inches wide (however, a roll at least 16 inches wide depending on the paper type) One sheet of unused paper of at least A4/Letter size (however, one sheet of unused paper of at least A2 size depending on the paper type) Registration and Confirmation of Paper Information • To Register Paper Information on the Printer When using newly released paper, paper information must be registered on the printer and the printer driver. Download the new version of Media Information File from the Canon website and install it. (See "Types of Paper.") →P.773 • To Confirm the Paper Information Registered on the Printer When confirming the paper information registered on the printer, select Paper Details on the Control Panel menu, and print the detailed information of the paper. In the Calibration column, OK(Common) is displayed for the paper for which common calibration is executed, OK(Unique) is displayed for the paper for which unique calibration is executed, and N/A is displayed for the paper for which color calibration cannot be executed. 7 Important • If, when reinstalling the printer driver, you change the region selection of the Media Configuration Tool, the region-specific paper information originally registered on the printer before installation will be deleted. Using paper with deleted information when executing color calibration will prevent the resulting calibration adjustment value from being applied to all other types of the paper. To apply the color calibration, prepare paper compatible with color calibration in the newly selected region and perform color calibration again. (See Media Configuration Tool →P.447 .) (See Media Configuration Tool →P.676 .) • To restore the default settings, set Reset PaprSetngs to Yes in System Setup in the Control Panel menu. 849 Because paper information added or modified by the Media Configuration Tool is deleted, if you have cali- brated the printer using paper with information added by the Media Configuration Tool, color calibration executed this way can no longer be applied to any type of paper. If you wish to apply calibration results, prepare calibration-compatible paper that was in the original settings and perform calibration again. (See Media Configuration Tool →P.447 .) To Register Paper Information on the Printer

When using newly released paper, paper information must be registered on the printer and the printer driver. Download

the new version of

Media Information File

from the Canon website and install it.

To Confirm the Paper Information Registered on the Printer

When confirming the paper information registered on the printer, select

Paper Details

on the Control Panel menu, and

print the detailed information of the paper.

In the

Calibration

column,

OK(Common)

is displayed for the paper for which common calibration is executed,

OK(Unique)

is displayed for the paper for which unique calibration is executed, and

N/A

is displayed for the paper for

which color calibration cannot be executed.

Important

•

If, when reinstalling the printer driver, you change the region selection of the Media Configuration Tool, the

region-specific paper information originally registered on the printer before installation will be deleted.

Using paper with deleted information when executing color calibration will prevent the resulting calibration

adjustment value from being applied to all other types of the paper.

To apply the color calibration, prepare paper compatible with color calibration in the newly selected region

and perform color calibration again.

Because paper information added or modified by the Media Configuration Tool is deleted, if you have cali-

brated the printer using paper with information added by the Media Configuration Tool, color calibration

executed this way can no longer be applied to any type of paper.

If you wish to apply calibration results, prepare calibration-compatible paper that was in the original settings

and perform calibration again.
