To suppress feedback effects, the crossover network has been mounted so as to be insulated against vibrations. The cabinets of the Reference K series have a complex design, formed from multiple layers of wood, glued together with heat and pressure. This multilayer sandwich construction creates a very stiff cabinet, preventing unwanted cabinet resonance. Premium-quality components are used exclusively. Likewise integrated into the crossover network is the DC technology developed by Canton, which suppresses subsonic vibrations of the woofer and delivers bass tones that are perceptibly tauter and more precise. The heart of the Reference tweeter is the shape optimized cone made out of aluminum-oxyd-ceramic. Centered in the tweeter's transmission front plate, Canton is significantly improving tweeter performance. The new integrated waveguide extends the useable frequency bandwidth to 40,000 Hz. The extended frequency response is particularly beneficial with high-resolution formats such as SACD and DVD-Audio.
