Using the Auto Focus Assist Light (AF Assist Light) Procedure [r] (REC) * [MENU] * REC Tab * AF Assist Light Half-pressing the shutter button while this setting is selected causes the front lamp to light, which provides illumination for focusing in areas where lighting is dim. Leaving this function turned off is recommended when shoot portraits from short distances, etc. Front lamp IMPORTANT! • Never look directly into the front lamp while it is lit. • Make sure your finger is not covering the front lamp. Shooting with Face Detection (Face Detection) Procedure [r] (REC) * [MENU] * REC Tab * Face Detection When shooting people, the face detection feature detects the faces of up to ten individuals and adjusts focus and brightness accordingly. 1. Use [4] and [6] to select "On" and then press [SET]. 2. Point the camera at the subject (s). The camera will detect human faces and display a frame around each one. 3. Half-press the shutter button. The camera will focus and the frames around the faces it focuses on will turn green. 4. Press the shutter button the rest of the way down. Face Detection icon B 89 Advanced Settings
