4. Wipe a new battery with a dry cloth, and then load it into the calculator with its positive k side facing upwards (so you can see it). 5. Replace the battery cover and secure it in place with its screw. 6. Perform the following key operation: (1) O19(CLR) (2) "All:EXE" (fc), then E (3) E(Yes) (4) A • Make sure you perform the above key operation. Do not skip it. • Replacing the battery initializes the calculator, including the custom shortcut keys and function shortcut keys. See "Initializing the Calculator" (page E-3) for more information. FC-100V This calculator is powered by a single AAA-size battery (R03 (UM-4)). A Replacing the Battery Dim figures on the display of the calculator indicate that battery power is low. Continued use of the calculator when the battery is low can result in improper operation. Replace the battery as soon as possible when display figures becomes dim. Even if the calculator is operating normally, replace the battery at least once every two years. Important! • Removing the battery from the calculator causes independent memory contents and values assigned to variables to be cleared. E-144
