u To delete a function Example To delete the contents of function memory number 1 A K6(g)6(g)3(FMEM)* 1(STO)bw * fx-7400GII: 2(FMEM) • Executing the store operation while the display is blank deletes the function in the function memory you specify. k Answer Function The Answer Function automatically stores the last result you calculated by pressing w (unless the w key operation results in an error). The result is stored in the answer memory. • The largest value that the answer memory can hold is 15 digits for the mantissa and 2 digits for the exponent. • Answer memory contents are not cleared when you press the A key or when you switch power off. u To use the contents of the answer memory in a calculation Example 123 + 456 = 579 789 - 579 = 210 Abcd+efgw hij-!-(Ans)w fx-7400GII, fx-9750GII users... • The answer memory contents are not changed by an operation that assigns values to Alpha memory (such as: faal(B)w). fx-9860GII SD, fx-9860GII, fx-9860G AU PLUS users... • In the Math input/output mode, the operation to recall answer memory contents is different from the operation in the Linear input/output mode. For details, see "History Function" (page 1-17). • Performing an operation that assigns a value to an Alpha memory (such as faal(B)w), answer memory contents are updated in the Math input/output mode but not in the Linear input/output mode. 2-9
