Chapter 5 Advanced Configuration NOTE: When downloading a configuration file, make sure that it is a valid configuration file. If you have edited the file, ensure that only valid entries have been configured. Admin > Reboot NOTE: Restoring the factory defaults will erase all configuration settings that you have made. You can save a backup of your current configuration settings from the Admin > Save Configuration screen. Admin > Server Logs The Server Logs screen contains information for viewing and configuring the Remote Log Servers. New log servers can be defined, and the log severity sent to each server. Admin > Reboot The Reboot screen resets the device. The device configuration is automatically saved before the device is rebooted. Admin > Factory Defaults The Factory Reset screen allows network managers to reset the device to the factory defaults shipped with the switch. Restoring factory defaults results in erasing the configuration file. UDP Port (1-65535) Defines the UDP port to which the server logs are sent. The possible range is 1 to 65535. The default value is 514. Facility Defines a user-defined application from which system logs are sent to the remote server. Only one facility can be assigned to a single server. If a second facility level is assigned, the first facility is overridden. All applications defined for a device utilize the same facility on a server. The field default is Local 7. The possible field values are Local 0 - Local 7. Description Provides a user-defined server description. Minimum Severity Indicates the minimum severity from which logs are sent to the server. For example, if Notice is selected, all logs from a Notice severity and higher are sent to the remote server. The Add to List button adds the Server Log configuration to the Server Log Table at the bottom of the screen. 55
