Note This section describes how to enable IP multicast routing on the MSFC. For more detailed IP multicast configuration information, refer to the "IP Multicast" section of the Cisco IOS IP and IP Routing Configuration Guide at http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios121/121cgcr/ip_c/ipcprt3/index.htm Enabling IP Multicast Routing Globally You must enable IP multicast routing globally on the MSFC before you can enable IP MMLS on MSFC interfaces. To enable IP multicast routing globally on the MSFC, perform this task in global configuration mode: Task Command Enable IP multicast routing globally. Router(config)# ip multicast-routing This example shows how to enable IP multicast routing globally: Router(config)# ip multicast-routing Router(config)# Enabling IP PIM on MSFC Interfaces You must enable IP PIM on the MSFC interfaces before IP MMLS will function on those interfaces. To enable IP PIM on an interface, perform this task: Task Command Enable IP PIM on an MSFC interface.
