The RECORD/BATT indicatorwill brightly light • during recording when fresh batteries are used. LOADING A MICROCASSETTE 1. Press the STOP/EJECT button to open the cassette compartment. 2. Load a microcassette with the side to be played or recorded facing you, and the exposed tape faces up. 3. Gently close the microcassette compartment. AC ADAPTER An optional AC adaptercan be used to operate the unit. 1. Insert the AC adapters plug into the DC 3V jack of the unit, Internal batteries are automatically disconnected. 2. Plug the AC adapter into an AC wall outlet. Caution: You must use an AC adapterthat supplies 3 volts with centertip negative (300 mA). Using an adapterthat does not meet these specifications might damage the unit. PLAYBACK 1. Adjust the VOLUME/VAS SENS control to the lowest level. 2. Load a microcassette tape. 3. Press the PLAY button. 4. Adjust the VOLUME/VAS SENS control to your comfortable level. 5. Set the TAPE SPEED (2.4/1.2) switch to the tape speed used when the tape was recorded. 6. Press the STOP/EJECT button to stop playback. CUE AND REVIEW To locate a specific portion of the tape during playback, you can fast forward or rewind the tape by sliding and holding the REW/F.F. (REV/.CUE) switch. The recorded portion will produce a "chattering', sound. Thus, the recorded and unrecorded portions of the tape can be easily distinguished for easy tape scanning. When the desired location on the tape is reached, release the switch to resume normal playback. FAST FORWARD AND REWIND To rapidly advance or rewind the tape while in the STOP mode, slide the REW/F.F.(REV/CUE) switch. The switch will remain locked in its position. To stop the tape, at the desired position or when the end of the tape is reached, press the STOP/EJECT button. I I
