• Remote Desktop and Computer Management HP Custom Data Manager The HP Custom Data Manager (CDM) maintains user-specified text information on a per server basis. It can store text information such as warranty expiration, server memo, and server location description. The text information format is open to users, and the HP CDM enables users to view and input the information. CDM is a console task on System Center Essentials, and launches from HP Servers Groups and subgroups. NOTE: CDM must be installed on each remote System Center Essentials Console. For further information, see Installing the HP ProLiant Management Pack for System Center Essentials (x86 or x64 editions) (on page 10). CDM automatically locates the System Center Essentials host name from the System Center Essentials registry with user credentials. Users must have the proper access credentials to use this tool. CDM communicates with the SDK interface of System Center Essentials and enumerates all HP Server systems in the System Center Essentials domain. CDM does not enumerate non-HP servers. The following command buttons are included with the Custom Data Manager: • Open File enables users to load a previously-saved XML file to update the Custom Data section. • Save File enables users to save enumerated HP Server data to an XML file. Microsoft® Excel can be used to edit the saved XML file to be loaded back to the CDM tool to update the Custom Data section. NOTE: The saved file must be saved as XML data, not an XML spreadsheet.
