The ECC memory scheme delivers superior error detection and correction capabilities, providing a greater level of data integrity for all network environments. ECC memory detects single and double-bit errors, and corrects single-bit errors. In Compaq servers, ECC errors are logged to the Server Health Log, where they are stored in non-volatile RAM that can be accessed by system administrators to help identify the cause of the errors and determine how best to correct the situation.
