Hardware Components Connecting a Modem Cable The notebook's internal modem is connected to an analog telephone line by means of a 6-pin, RJ-11 modem cable. In some countries, a country-specific modem adapter is required. Jacks for digital PBX systems may resemble analog telephone jacks, but are not compatible with the modem. Å WARNING: Connecting the notebook's analog modem to a digital line can permanently damage the modem. The notebook’s internal modem is connected to an analog
